Project details
The Town of Salem New Hampshire, through the Depot Revitalization Committee and the Historic District Commission, is nearing completion with the rehabilitation of the structure with the intention to bring back an integral corner stone in the Town’s past. This structure represents the cornerstone to the past and a new future for commercial activity centered on the Depot intersection. The Depot Train Station is a symbol of the beginning of commerce in Salem and will reinvigorate a renewed commercial future based on the integrity and character of the past. The project is nearing the end of a three-phase revitalization program; Hazardous materials removal and partial demolition has been completed; Structural and building envelope improvements are completed; and building finish work , fixtures, are in progress and are completing the major details. The Town has provided the building, the property, and $65,000 toward a successful hazardous materials removal and partial demolition of a historically inappropriate addition.
