Project details
The integration of multiple projects is often a difficult but beneficial opportunity. The Intelligent Transportation Systems project represents the computerization of traffic systems with the added benefit of traffic monitoring. The Fiber project is a municipal/school approach to enhancing communications throughout the primary municipal/school facilities and expanding into a connected system for all public institutions. The Media project will connect the same public buildings with the objective of providing live feed and other capabilities back to the Cable channel studios. Each of these projects has one technology in common; a fiber network. The designs now included the “Fiber Trunk Line” a network serving the Police, Fire, Woodbury, High School, Town Hall and Senior Center. This line represents 144 strands of fiber, a sufficient count to handle a town wide fiber system connecting to the “Trunk Line” in the future. The plan includes a near town-wide approach that is implemented as new grant and funding opportunities arise. The planning for this requires a count at each facility and devices throughout the community. However, the alternative is to not coordinate the projects and hang separate lines for each functional element. The documents on this page outline past presentations and documents for the project
